Our client, a well-established distribution company, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team in Northwest Houston. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering stability, long-term growth, and the chance to be part of a collaborative accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process invoices, ensuring proper GL coding and approvals
- Accurately enter high-volume invoices received from multiple locations
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies
- Process weekly check runs, wire transfers, and positive pay uploads
- Maintain vendor records and monitor daily banking activity, including ACH transactions
- Assist with audits, intercompany reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Provide additional accounts payable support as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Experience working within a manual accounts payable environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
